ParcelGenie Privacy Policy

Welcome to ParcelGenie’s privacy policy. This privacy statement ("Privacy Policy") covers the ParcelGenie application on Facebook, Twitter and the service on LinkedIn (The ParcelGenie). The ParcelGenie application is owned and operated by ParcelPoke Ltd trading as “ParcelGenie” and referred to here as "ParcelGenie" (and "we", "us", "our"). We know that you care about how your personal information is used and shared and we care about this too; we take your privacy very seriously. Please read the following to learn more about our Privacy Policy. By using the ParcelGenie application on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, submitting information or using any of our services, you are accepting the practices outlined in this Privacy Policy.

What Does This Privacy Policy Cover?

This Privacy Policy covers our treatment of personal information that we gather when you use the ParcelGenie application on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn and when you use our services. Also, this Privacy Policy covers our treatment of any personal information that our business partners share with us. This policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that we do not own or control, or to individuals that we do not employ or manage.

What Personal Information About Users Do We Collect?

Our primary goal in collecting personal information is to provide a high quality service that is personalised. We collect the following types of information from our users:

  1. Information You Provide to Us
To use ParcelGenie and our services, you must add the ParcelGenie application on Facebook or access it through Twitter or LinkedIn. In addition, it is possible, should you wish, to enter your email address, a mail/ postal delivery address, phone number, and/or payment-related information. If you do not wish to send or receive gifts, you can choose not to provide us with certain information. You would not then be able to take advantage of many of our special features but this is entirely your choice. The personal information you provide may be used for such purposes as fulfilling your orders, responding to your requests for certain services, customizing the advertising and content you see, and communicating with you about promotions.

  1. Automatic Information

·                         We may receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. We may automatically receive and record certain "traffic data" on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, the part of the application used and the browser type. We use this traffic data to help diagnose problems with our servers, analyze trends, and administer the application.

·                         Generally, our service may automatically collect usage information, such as the numbers and frequency of visitors to our application. This data is typically used in the aggregate, that is, as a statistical measure, and not in a manner that would identify you personally. This type of collective data enables us to determine how often users use parts of the application, so we can make the application appealing to as many users as possible. In addition, we may provide statistical information, not information about you personally, to our partners about how our users, collectively, use ParcelGenie.

  1. E-mail Communications
We send an email to you when you make a purchase on the ParcelGenie application to confirm your order and payment. We may receive a confirmation when you open an e-mail from us if your computer supports this type of program, in order to help us make e-mails more interesting and helpful. We may also send out emails with news or promotions. If you do not want to receive these e-mails or any other mail from us, please notify us by e-mail at unsubscribe@parcelgenie.com
and include sufficient information for us to identify your account.

  1. SMS (mobile text) Communications

We may send SMS messages (text messages to mobile phones) when this feature is selected by you and you provide a mobile telephone number. In addition we may use text messages to communicate promotions or special offers to users. If you do not wish to receive SMS messages then please notify us by e-mail at unsubscribe@parcelgenie.com and include sufficient information for us to identify you, for example, the mobile telephone number used and your associated username. We will then stop sending SMS messages to you.

Will We Share Any of the Information We Receive?

We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We share your personal information only with your consent or to our business partners and affiliates as described below:

Others People’s Information

You may decide to provide us with another person's email address or mobile telephone number so that person may be alerted to a gift that you have sent them. This information may be provided by you so that you can communicate with the recipient of a gift sent by you. You may also provide us with another person's postal address for the purpose of delivering a real gift to them. We use this information to contact and, if necessary, remind that person that he or she has been given a gift by you. The people who receive these communications are provided with the option not to receive further communication from the ParcelGenie application. We may disclose such information if required to do so in order to comply with legal process, as described below.

Cookies

The ParcelGenie application uses cookies. A cookie is a small text file of which there are three types:
Session cookies: These are used to maintain something called session state. If you consider your journey through the application to be a conversation with us, this cookie just reminds the application where we were in that conversation. These are required for the application to function but are not used in any way to identify you personally.

Although you cannot block "session" cookies as they are required for our application to function correctly you can configure your internet browser so that it can reject both "permanent" and "third party" cookies. How you do this will depend upon the internet browser you use (for example, Internet Explorer 8, Netscape 4) and it is therefore impractical for us to detail here how you can reject those cookies. Please refer to the relevant internet browser manufacturer's website where you should be able to receive all the information you need.

Affiliated Businesses We Do Not Control

We are affiliated with a variety of businesses and work closely with them in order to provide our services to users. We will only share personal information that is necessary for the affiliate to provide such services, for example, for the fulfilment of an order. We generally require our affiliates to provide the same level of privacy protection that we do and they do not generally have the right to share or use personal information for any purpose other than to fulfil your order.

ParcelGenie Staff

Our staff (including consultants and contractors) may have access to user information while carrying out their duties in the normal course of our company business. We take care to ensure that information accessed in the course of this work is not communicated to external parties unless necessary to the provision of service.

Agents

We may employ other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf and may need to share your information with them to provide services to you.

Business Transfers

In some cases, we may choose to buy or sell assets. In these types of transactions, customer information is typically one of the business assets that is transferred. Moreover, if our company, or substantially all of our assets, were acquired, customer information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party.

Protection of ParcelGenie and Other

We may release personal information when we believe in good faith that release is necessary to comply with that law, enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of the business, our employees, our users, or others.

Is Information About Me Secure?

·                     We use industry-standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) software to protect the security of your personal information during transmission, which encrypts all password and payment-related information you input.

·                     All transactions are processed by PayPal Inc who have high standards of security and are an established provider of payment services. We do not have access to any credit card information that may be revealed to PayPal though we do have access to a record of transactions for the purposes of running the service and auditing payments.

·                     Only our employees who need personal information to perform a specific job (for example, a customer service representative) are granted access to it. All of our employees are kept up to date on our privacy and security practices.

What Information Can I Access?

You can access your personal information on the ParcelGenie application, for example, your mailing address, by accessing the relevant section of the application, in this case the “Delivery” tab.

What Choices Do I Have?

·                     As stated previously, you can always opt not to provide information, for example, your mailing address, but then you may be unable to use certain features of our application.

·                     You are able to add or update certain information on pages, such as your address. When you update information, however, we often maintain a copy of the unrevised information in our records.

·                     You may disable the ParcelGenie application on Facebook by removing the application from your profile. If you have any problems, please email customer.services@parcelgenie.com. Please note that some information may remain in our records after disabling your account.

·                     If you do not wish to receive e-mail, SMS, or other communication from us, please notify us by e-mail at unsubscribe@parcelgenie.com. Please note that if you do not want to receive legal notices from us, such as this Privacy Policy, those legal notices will still govern your use of our services, and you are responsible for reviewing such legal notices for changes.
